Answer the Call: Honoring a Legacy of Service, Sacrifice, and the Spirit of New York

Answer the Call: Honoring a Legacy of Service, Sacrifice, and the Spirit of New York

Some causes are bigger than a product.

Some causes are personal.

For both Cowpoke Collective and Area Denial Group, this fundraiser is exactly that.

I was born and raised just 50 miles north of New York City, a city that has always represented resilience, sacrifice, and service. Like countless others in our region, the events of September 11, 2001 forever changed my life and shaped the way I view those who answer the call when others are running toward danger while others flee.

My connection to first responders began long before 9/11.

In 1964, my grandfather served as a New York City Police Officer. In 1967, he joined the FDNY, dedicating the next 28 years of his life to protecting the people of New York City. Through decades of hard work, leadership, and selfless service, he rose through the ranks and retired in 1995 as a Battalion Chief.

Service wasn’t simply what he did it was who he was.

That same spirit of service is what brought Cowpoke Collective and Area Denial Group together for this special collaboration benefiting Answer the Call NYC.

Before serving in the Army, I served as a firefighter. My family’s dedication to service continues today through my stepfather, who served my hometown community as a firefighter, rose to the rank of chief, and now serves as a fire commissioner.

Likewise, both founders of Cowpoke Collective served as wildland firefighters before one joined the Army, and one continues to serve today in federal law enforcement and the other as an interior firefighter.

Though our paths have taken us in different directions, we share a common bond service before self.

Together, Cowpoke Collective and Area Denial Group are proud to release this limited edition collection of three reflective American flag patches honoring the heroes, agencies, and sacrifices of September 11th.

Each reflective patch features the American flag and the iconic New York City skyline, forever marked by the Twin Towers as a reminder that we must never forget.

The collection includes:

  • FDNY Tribute Patch – Honoring the firefighters who stood on the front lines, including the 343 FDNY members who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11th.
  • NYPD Tribute Patch – Recognizing the courage and dedication of New York’s Finest and the generations of officers who have served the city with honor.
  • Port Authority Police Tribute Patch – Paying tribute to the PAPD officers who answered the call on 9/11 and gave their lives helping others escape.

The three patches will be sold together as a limited-edition 3-pack for $40, with proceeds donated to Answer the Call NYC, helping provide financial assistance and ongoing support to the families of New York City firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and Port Authority Police officers who have been killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

These patches reflect more than light they reflect a legacy of courage, duty, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to others.

For us, this fundraiser is personal.

It’s about honoring family legacies.

It’s about remembering those we lost.

It’s about supporting the families who continue to carry that burden.

And it’s about ensuring that the heroes of September 11th are never forgotten.

Thank you for helping us answer the call.
